About TreeIncarnation Woodcrafts.....
We are located in the beautiful Piedmont Triad Area of north central North Carolina. Our geographic area is abundant with hardwoods such as maple, walnut, and cherry, primary woods found in our creations. Additionally, we incorporate a number of exotic hardwoods such as bloodwood, yellowheart, bubinga, mahogany, and purpleheart into many of our pieces.
No item is the same, and each piece is unique. The wood from beautiful hardwood trees is indeed given a new life through the creations that leave our shop. Our creations are handcrafted individually, and it is very rare to fabricate identical items. Every piece is a one-of-a-kind design. There may be natural variations in the grain or wood that are not product flaws, but just features of a natural wood product.
Variations of this nature are common when constructing handmade wooden products. Therefore, you may find minor distinctions that make your woodcraft unique. Most cutting boards are long or edge grain, and are constructed with only the best domestic and exotic hardwoods. We do construct end grain boards as well, and will also make them upon request. Thicker cutting boards are heavier, and are usually 1.25 to 2 inches. Most of the thick boards are single-sided, with four non-slip rubber feet on the bottom for optimal stability. Thinner boards are usually reversible and double-sided. Either side can be used for cutting, chopping, or serving. An advantage of this type of board is that one side can be used for vegetables or fruit, and the other side for meat....a nice safe arrangement. Or, one side can be used for cutting and the other side for serving. They are usually 0.75 to 1 inch thick. Most of the double-sided, reversible boards have a hole on one end at the center or corner of the piece. Many people have asked, "Why do you put a hole in some of your boards?" Well the answer is quite simple.... 1. It gives you a handle to carry the board. 2. It gives you a place to hang the board if you choose. 3. It gives you a way of picking up the board with one hand if it is on a flat surface like a counter-top. Think about it.... It's not easy to pick up a board by the edge with only one hand if it is on a flat surface. The hole, however, gives you a nice place to grab the board. Another frequent comment we receive about our handcrafted boards..... "They just look way too nice to use". Okay. Yes, we are very proud of the way our boards look. Each one is unique and made to appear attractive. They are also constructed to be used for their primary purpose if you choose....as a cutting, serving, or chopping board. The quality hardwood will stand up to a lot of use and last many years if properly maintained. However, if you choose to use your board as a decoration in your home, business, or kitchen, it is fine with us and up to you. We are flattered when folks show off our work as pieces of art. After they are carefully fabricated, all cutting boards are meticulously sanded with different grits of sandpaper and steel wool to a glass-like finish. Lastly, the boards receive a final finish with several coats of conditioner composed of mineral oil and natural waxes....all food-safe substances. Lazy Susans are constructed using only quality hardwoods. They are usually a round or a geometric design, and average around 14-18 inches across. Bases are made of hardwood as well, have non-slip feet attached for maximum stability, and are connected to the top by way of a smooth functioning, ball bearing swivel. Lazy Susans receive a finish of Danish oil, and finally multiple coats of gloss or satin polyurethane for added protection. We can provide custom finishes if you choose to have us construct a special piece of your own design or specifications. For instance....some customers prefer a more natural finish with just Danish Oil, some prefer the protective nature of polyurethane. Either way, they both look great. And, as usual, we always offer FREE SHIPPING TO LOCATIONS IN THE CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES...... International customers.....please inquire first concerning shipping. Tables and special custom orders may require additional shipping costs. The hole in all reversible boards can serve several different functions....carrying, hanging, picking up....
All thicker, single-sided cutting boards as well as Lazy Susans have non-slip rubber feet attached to the bottom for safety and stability....
